The Forum

One of the roles of The Forum is as an umbrella group for member organisations based in Windmill Hill.  Any not-for-profit group based in or around Windmill Hill can become a member of The Forum provided they have a written constitution.  Click here for the simple form that needs to be completed.  Benefits of a group being a member of The Forum include:

  • an invitation to the bi-monthly meetings of The Forum;
  • use of the 16 seater community minibus;
  • help with fundraising and other applications.

Bi-monthly meetings of The Forum

A representative of every member organisation is invited to attend the regular, usually bi-monthly, meetings of The Forum.  The meetings are also attended by LHT, HBC Community Project Officer, Neighbourhood Management, Councillors, Police and other agencies from time to time. There is plenty of opportunity to give your point of view. These meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 11 am in the Hall of The PlayCentre.  For 2007 to 2008 these meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday 10 September 2007
  • Monday 12 November 2007
  • Monday 14 January 2008
  • Monday 10 March 2008

The meeting usually lasts about an hour and a quarter.  It is an opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics affecting people living on Windmill Hill.  The Agenda is usually something like:

  • Minutes of the last meeting;
  • Matters arising from the last meeting;
  • Report from the Treasurer of The Forum;
  • Transport report on the minibus;
  • Report from the Community Office;
  • Report from the Telematics Centre;
  • Reports from member groups;
  • Any Other Business

Community Minibus

Community minibusThe Forum owns and operates a 16 seater LDV Convoy minibus.  Member groups may hire the vehicle for self-drive hire provided they pre-register one or more drivers.  To register a driver for your group call the Community Office on 01928 790228 or call in.  Your driver will need:

  • to be 21 years or older;
  • to have held a full car driving license for 3 or more years;
  • to have not more than 3 penalty points on their license.

The charges for hire of the minibus are 75p per mile with a minimum charge of £ 10 per hire.
