Telematics 7th Party at the Playcentre

The Telematics Computer Centre Students Summer Party at the Placentre was held on Friday 11th July at the Playcentre, Norton Hill. The buffet and other refreshments were mainly supplied by the students themselves, and what a great job they did.

Over 75 students and guests including Mike Hall MP, Councillor Mike Shepherd, Councillor Diane Inch, Sophia Manners-Price of the RockSavage Power Company and Alison Bowen of the HBC Adult Learning Team, enjoyed a pleasant social evening to mark the end of the Telematics educational year.

Several competitions were held to identify students who attended during the year. The main one being  based on identifying the eyes of students which were merged into the various Bejing Olympic Games Mascots.

We are grateful to Liverpool Housing Trust who supplied a Community Grant for the prizes given on the night. Helen Cadwallader won the main prize of the evening which was her choice of either a copy of MS Office Suite 2007 or a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements, and once again we were pleased to welcome Mike Hall our local MP to present the prizes.

Mike then gave a very entertaining short speech about his links with Windmill Hill, the Forum and the Telematics Centre in particular.

Our thanks go to all of the students, our sponsors and our many supporters like Mike Hall MP, the local councillors, and LHT who make great events like this possible.
