Rocksavage Meets the Students on "Getting Started"
Rocksavage Power Company representative Sophia Manners-Price came to meet all the new students taking the "Getting Started on the Computer" course at the Telematics Centre today, Friday 21 September 2007.
The class had been working hard during the morning, practicing their keyboard skills by typing pangrams such as "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". Sophia was interested to see that work the students were doing, especially as they were using the new Microsoft Office Word 2007 program.
"It was great to see a 'full house' - not one empty seat, which is very encouraging. I look forward to meeting the students again in a few weeks time to present them with their certificates."
Sophia was presented with a large photo collage showing past students who had been on the "Getting Started on the Computer" course over the period September 2004 to February 2007. She can be seen on the right in the photo here with Mike Burrows (left), Chairman of Windmill Hill Community Forum. Seated are students Jenny Lunt (left) and Geoff Webster (right) who are on the current "Getting Started on the Computer" course running from September to Octobter 2007.
